The Breckinridge Activity Center
New Multi-Use Activity Center
We want a centerpiece of Breckinridge to be an Activity and Community Center located adjacent to the golf course. The facility is envisioned as a year-round gathering space featuring:
Indoor fitness and wellness facilities
Multi-purpose event and meeting rooms
After-school and youth development programming
Community classes, workshops, and cultural events
Space for nonprofit partnerships and outreach services
The Activity Center will be designed with flexibility in mind, allowing it to serve as a venue for everything from local celebrations and nonprofit fundraisers to educational seminars and wellness initiatives.
“Our goal is to create a place where families can connect, children can grow, and neighbors can gather,” said the Foundation’s Executive Director. “The Activity Center will be a cornerstone of that vision.”
Future Plans
Public Pool
Ever since the Union County Public Pool had to close this has been a missing need in the community. We want to do something about that! We have plans to add a public pool to the community center at Breckinridge. So far we are still in the planning phase, but we will update the site as soon as we know more.
Gym
We are also looking to add a gym with several available youth activities. Ideas include basketball hoops, indoor pickleball courts, volleyball etc. If you have any wishes for what an activity center in Union County should offer: let us know!
