About Us

The Breckinridge Legacy Foundation (BLF) is a nonprofit established in 2026 to increase the standard of living in Union County, Kentucky. Union is a county of about 13,000 people with a declining population since the 1980s. We want to turn that trend around by advertising all the things Union County has to offer, while also adding to that list through the foundation’s projects.

BLF was started by Philip Clements, Kim Humphrey, and Jim Peak, three Union County locals, who have a heart for this community. Their vision is to make Union County an even better place to live for the people who grew up here, and the new residents we welcome into our midst.

Projects

  • The Breckinridge Golf Course

    Facilities include an 18-hole public golf course with 6,602 yards of golf from the longest tees for a par of 72.

    It includes a driving range, practice greens, a pro shop and a restaurant. Follow us on social media to keep up to date with our activities and events!

  • Breckinridge Heights

    Housing has been identified as one of the main threats facing Union County and its expansion. Breckinridge Heights is a housing development project meant to cover this gap by building affordable, quality housing. It will be a subdivision, built section by section on the land next to the golf course and the event center.

  • The Breckinridge Activity Center

    The Breckinridge Activity Center is located on the golf course and offers activities and events for all ages. We want to create a meeting place for the local community and expand the activity offer in the county. We have plans of putting in a pool and a gym.
